At present, domestic and foreign mica purification methods include manual selection, friction purification, shape purification, air separation, reselection, and flotation. Among them, flake mica usually uses manual selection, friction purification, and shape purification. Mica is selected by wind, reselection or flotation.
1. Mica hand-selection purification
The manual selection method is to manually select the separated mica on the ore face or the pit of the pit mouth, or to crush the conjoined body with a hammer to select the mica.
This method does not require complicated equipment, but it is labor-intensive and the recovery rate of beneficiation can reach 80%, which is suitable for small mine production.
2. Purification by mica friction beneficiation method
The friction beneficiation method is based on the difference between the sliding friction coefficient of the mica crystal and the rolling friction coefficient of the round gangue block. The equipment used is many, including metal plate sorting machine, spiral sorting machine, and inclined Plate sorting machine and inclined plate sorting machine with "hill" plate.
When this method is used to produce mica ore, the production efficiency is relatively high, but there are also major shortcomings, mainly when the thickness of the ore exceeds, mica crystals similar in shape to the gangue blocks easily enter the gangue, and at the same time, flaky gangue may also enter In the mica concentrate, and the current friction beneficiation process and mechanical equipment are not perfect, therefore, in the mica beneficiation industrial production, friction beneficiation has not been widely used.
3. Purification by mica shape beneficiation method
The shape beneficiation method is to realize separation according to the different shapes of mica crystals and gangue. The mechanical equipment used is a cylindrical screen and a vibrating screen. This method generally uses two or more layers of sieves with different sieve openings. After the raw ore enters the sieve surface, small pieces of flake mica and gangue can leak from the sieve in the first layer to the sieve in the second layer due to vibration or rolling. The stones fall under the sieve, while the flake mica is left on the sieve surface to achieve sorting.
The method has simple process, few equipment, high production efficiency and strong separation ability, and is widely used in mica mining enterprises.
