At present, the purification methods of mica at home and abroad include manual selection, friction purification, shape purification, winnowing, gravity separation and flotation. 1. Purification of mica by hand selection
The manual selection method is to manually select the separated mica on the mining face or the pithead ore pile, or crush the conjoined body with a hand hammer to select the mica.
This method does not require complicated equipment, but the labor intensity is high, and the recovery rate of beneficiation can reach 80%, and it is suitable for small mine production.
2. Purification by mica friction beneficiation method
The friction beneficiation method is based on the difference between the sliding friction coefficient of the mica crystal and the rolling friction coefficient of the round gangue block. There are many equipments used, including metal plate separators, spiral separators, and inclined plates with deflectors. Plate sorting machine and inclined plate sorting machine with "mound-shaped" plates, etc.
When this method produces mica ore, the production efficiency is relatively high, but it also has great shortcomings. The main reason is that when the thickness of the ore exceeds, the mica crystals with a shape similar to the gangue block are easy to enter the gangue, and the flake gangue may also enter the gangue. In mica concentrate, moreover, the current friction beneficiation process and mechanical equipment are not perfect. Therefore, friction beneficiation has not been widely used in the industrial production of mica beneficiation.
3. Purification by mica shape beneficiation method
The shape beneficiation method is based on the different shapes of mica crystals and gangues to achieve separation. The mechanical equipment used includes cylindrical screens and vibrating screens. This method generally uses more than two layers of screens with different sieve holes. After the raw ore enters the screen surface, due to vibration or rolling, small pieces of flake mica and gangue can leak from the first layer of sieve to the second layer of sieve surface, veins The stone falls under the sieve, while the flake mica stays on the sieve surface, thus achieving sorting.
The method is simple in process, less equipment, high in production efficiency, and strong in sorting ability. It is widely used in mica mining enterprises.
